Package: e2fsprogs
Version: 1.41.12-2
Severity: normal
I have an older powermac.
the system battery appears to occasionally fail.
if there is a power outage, it comes back up thinking it is 1903. It
boots, mounts the filesystem, corrects the time from the network, and
carries on successfully.
however, when i reboot, the machine fails with the error message that
"last mount was in the future", and i get dropped into the maintenance
mode shell (or press Ctrl-D to continue)
Yes, the machine should get a new battery. However, declining to boot
because the battery died and the mainboard lost power is not a good
failure mode, especially due to an error message that is clearly
mistaken (1903 is not in 2011's future).
