Package: gitg Version: 0.0.6-3 Severity: important Hi!
After freshly installing gitg on a computer I got a lot of the following message when starting it (full log attached): ====================================================================== GConf Error: Failed to contact configuration server; the most common cause is a missing or misconfigured D-Bus session bus daemon. See http://projects.gnome.org/gconf/ for information. (Details - 1: Failed to get connection to session: /usr/bin/dbus-launch terminated abnormally without any error message) ====================================================================== The gitg window then displayed fine, but I was unable to change any preference settings: for instance I can open the preferences dialog using the menu Edit->Preferences and click "use vertical layout". The tick-mark will display, but nothing will change immediately in the main window. I can close the preferences dialog, and again nothing changes in the main window. I can open the preferences dialog again and the tick-mark for "use vertical layout" is gone. On this system /usr/bin/dbus-launch was missing. It appears to be in the packages dbus-x11. I'm waiting for the administrator to install it, then I'll report back if that helps.
