This doesn't normally happen with multistrap. (It would have been found a long time ago). The following NEW packages will be installed: base-files base-passwd ... Using directory /tmp/multistrap/ for unpacking operations I: Extracting base-files_6.0_i386.deb... -> Processing conffiles for base-files I: Extracting base-passwd_3.5.22_i386.deb... ... Setting up base-passwd (3.5.22) ... .... Setting up base-files (6.0) ... ... i.e. A typical run would configure base-passwd first and base-files a bit later. As with all multistrap bugs, please attach your complete multistrap config file and, if possible, the output log from multistrap. > However, if we do this for every package which depends on another > essential package, this would result in lots of circular dependencies, > which are also highly discouraged, so I really believe this is a > problem that should be solved by multistrap, hence the reassign. If it was reproducible, then yes. Currently, multistrap doesn't have this problem in my own tests. (It is dpkg which is being asked to do the configuration.) -- Neil Williams ============= http://www.data-freedom.org/ http://www.linux.codehelp.co.uk/ http://e-mail.is-not-s.ms/
