Recent versions fixed the manpage but still the -ro option use is not evident. The reason is that ogrinfo opens data source in update/append mode, because the -sql command can be used for updating. So, the -ro flag forces the opening in read-only mode indeed. Upstream has a report opened since years as well. Cheers. -- Francesco P.
