Please consider moving those files to /usr/share, or if they are needed during boot to /lib/usb-modeswitch.
This is already on the ToDo list for the next version of usb-modeswitch as it was discussed with the Debian package maintainer. I'm planning the release to be out in two weeks or so. The location of the data files has to be reflected in the program obviously.
