Package: kernel-package
Version: 9.005
Severity: wishlist
It is possible to install kernel-package from unstable without upgrading
dpkg-dev since kernel-package Depends: dpkg-dev (>= 1.4.0.9)
For building kernel-headers, make-kpkg checks DEB_HOST_GNU_SYSTEM, which is
set to linux on sarge, but linux-gnu since dpkg 1.13.2. Since recent
make-kpkg looks for linux-gnu, it does not build headers when an older
dpkg-dev is installed. Please tighten the depends on dpkg-dev accordingy,
or, as the dpkg changelog says:
- dpkg-architecture outputs (mostly) correct GNU system names now,
in particular this means that it will output "linux-gnu" instead
of "linux". You should use the new _ARCH_OS variables instead.
