Well, it's in production for our internal use now so we don't plan to
change the mirroring method.
Besides, your documentation doesn't state that using ftpsync is mandatory,
only that is is recommended. And debmirror seems to follow your
recommendations for rsync setup, so I don't see what's wrong with it.
And it's packaged in Debian, whereas ftpsync isn't ;-)
