I'm glad to take notice, but it would be great if the page would
either give reasons why hal is deprecated or at least point
prominently to a suitable page. (just for the sake of not following
you blindly ;-)...).

I never used of the hal features of pmount personally; I'll be glad
to be rid of it, if truth be told.
What it the timeline for the removal ?
