Since this package is now considered "stable", it would be really handy if this bug could be fixed by modifying the CFLAGS as J suggested in the original report. My main concern is that amavisd-new depends on 'pax' but this bug in pax causes amavisd-new to avoid checking any tar file for viruses. It thinks any such tar files are a mail bomb, due to the mis-reported sizes of the contents.
