No. The problem is gone and I cannot reproduce it as I haven't kept the old dictionary. I now see the configuration script run aspell-autobuildhash during the reinstallation. That may be all that is required to fix the problem. Aspell-fr was installed before I dist-upgraded to squeeze. As the package was already up to date, it was not updated during the migration to Debian 6.0 so the postinst script had no chances to run and set things straight. > - Could you give me the result of running on the command line: > $ locale LANG=fr_BE.UTF-8 LANGUAGE=en_BE:en_US:en_GB:en LC_CTYPE="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_NUMERIC="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_TIME="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_COLLATE="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_MONETARY="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_MESSAGES="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_PAPER="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_NAME="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_ADDRESS="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_TELEPHONE="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_MEASUREMENT="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_IDENTIFICATION="fr_BE.UTF-8" LC_ALL= > $ grep fr_ /etc/locale.gen fr_BE@euro ISO-8859-15 fr_BE.ISO-8859-1 ISO-8859-1 fr_BE UTF-8 fr_BE.UTF-8 UTF-8 # fr_FR@euro ISO-8859-15 # fr_FR ISO-8859-1 # fr_FR.UTF-8 UTF-8 # fr_BE ISO-8859-1 # fr_CA ISO-8859-1 # fr_CA.UTF-8 UTF-8 # fr_CH ISO-8859-1 # fr_CH.UTF-8 UTF-8 # fr_LU ISO-8859-1 # fr_LU.UTF-8 UTF-8 # fr_LU@euro ISO-8859-15 > Could you also give me the exact command line you use to run Aspell. The first command: aspell list then enter a word with an accent such as «demandé» then ctrl+d. Aspell outputs the same word indicating that it is misspelled. The second command: aspell check text.txt where text.txt contains a few words with accents. All are reported as erroneous. But I first spotted the problem in kmail where all the accented words are underlined. Frederic -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
