Package: libgl1-nvidia-glx-ia32 Version: 260.19.21-1 Severity: minor I upgraded my nvidia-glx today from the version in unstable (195.36.31-6) to the one in experimental (260.19.21-1). As per apt's complaining, I remembered to also upgrade libgl1-nvidia-glx and nvidia-kernel-dkms, but I forgot libgl1-nvidia-glx-ia32, which remained at 195.36.31-6.
64-bit apps worked fine, but 32-bit ones (including googleearth) were very buggy. Upgrading libgl1-nvidia-glx-ia32 to match nvidia-glx resolved all issues. Should there be a Conflicts to avoid mismatched versions of libraries and drivers? -- Package-specific info: uname -a: Linux sigill 2.6.37-1-amd64 #1 SMP Tue Feb 15 17:43:38 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux /proc/version: Linux version 2.6.37-1-amd64 (Debian 2.6.37-1) ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.4.5 (Debian 4.4.5-10) ) #1 SMP Tue Feb 15 17:43:38 UTC 2011 /proc/driver/nvidia/version: NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 260.19.21 Thu Nov 4 21:16:27 PDT 2010 GCC version: gcc version 4.4.5 (Debian 4.4.5-12) lspci 'VGA compatible controller [0300]': 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nVidia Corporation GT215 [Quadro FX 1800M] [10de:0cbc] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:040c] Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx- Latency: 0 Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 16 Region 0: Memory at e2000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16M] Region 1: Memory at d0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] Region 3: Memory at e0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=32M] Region 5: I/O ports at 7000 [size=128] [virtual] Expansion ROM at e3000000 [disabled] [size=512K] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel driver in use: nvidia -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.37-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libgl1-nvidia-glx-ia32 depends on: ii ia32-libs 20110117 ia32 shared libraries for use on a ii libc6-i386 2.11.2-11 Embedded GNU C Library: 32-bit sha ii libgl1-nvidia-alternatives-i 195.36.31-6 simplifies replacing MESA libGL wi Versions of packages libgl1-nvidia-glx-ia32 recommends: ii nvidia-kernel-dkms [nvidia-k 260.19.21-1 NVIDIA binary kernel module DKMS s Versions of packages libgl1-nvidia-glx-ia32 suggests: ii nvidia-kernel-dkms [nvidia-k 260.19.21-1 NVIDIA binary kernel module DKMS s Versions of packages nvidia-glx depends on: ii dpkg 1.15.8.10 Debian package management system ii libc6 2.11.2-11 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libgl1-nvidia-glx [libgl1-nv 260.19.21-1 NVIDIA binary OpenGL libraries ii libglx-nvidia-alternatives 195.36.31-6 simplifies replacing Xorg module l ii nvidia-kernel-dkms [nvidia-k 260.19.21-1 NVIDIA binary kernel module DKMS s ii xserver-xorg-core [xorg-vide 2:1.7.7-11 Xorg X server - core server Versions of packages nvidia-kernel-dkms depends on: ii dkms 2.1.1.2-5 Dynamic Kernel Module Support Fram ii nvidia-kernel-common 20100522+2 NVIDIA binary kernel module suppor Versions of packages libgl1-nvidia-glx-ia32 is related to: ii binutils 2.20.1-16 The GNU assembler, linker and bina pn binutils-gold <none> (no description available) ii linux-headers-2.6-amd64 [lin 2.6.37+30 Header files for Linux 2.6-amd64 ( ii linux-headers-2.6.37-1-amd64 2.6.37-1 Header files for Linux 2.6.37-1-am ii nvidia-glx [nvidia-glx] 260.19.21-1 NVIDIA binary Xorg driver ii nvidia-kernel-common 20100522+2 NVIDIA binary kernel module suppor ii nvidia-kernel-dkms [nvidia-k 260.19.21-1 NVIDIA binary kernel module DKMS s pn nvidia-kernel-source <none> (no description available) ii xserver-xorg 1:7.5+8 the X.Org X server ii xserver-xorg-core 2:1.7.7-11 Xorg X server - core server -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
