I'm currently trying to reproduce the bug. As you can read here
http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin24/replication.html#LDAP%20Sync%20Replication
sync replication should read ldap.conf for the TLS parameters. Openldap
2.3 didn't had any tls parameters in slapd.conf and it was the only way
to configure them. 2.4 should read them (and did with the version in
Debian Lenny) but after the dist-upgrade i got ssl errors.
