Still unknown; however, last week I installed Ubuntu lucid on one of the
affected systems and the problem seems to be gone in that version. I wonder
if it couldn't have been commit 3362381aa3a97c1da564f8a479ed4e7b0d6368b8
and/or 7ed27b926f28a1f088eace5034a7d9985f13752d ? Anyway, there is a good
chance that squeeze is not affected by this bug. I may or may not have the
time to test: our migration path from lenny on the desktops is to Ubuntu.
