Source: ftp.debian.org Severity: normal I hereby request the priority of the package libdnet to be raised from extra to optional for the following reason:
libdnet provides extensions to the standard c runtime environment for DECnet sockets. It does provide standard functions for node name lookup and such basic functionality like the standard c library does for IP and UNIX sockets. It also provides functionality to read and write VMS files (over the network). The package itself does not alternate any configuration, depend on special stuff (like kernel modules or other non-standard libraries). Policy (2.5 Priorities) says: > [...] This is all the software that you might reasonably want to install > if you didn't know what it was and don't have specialized requirements. [...] As this library package provides only very essential stuff which is never seen by a user and may be used by programs or frameworks and does not have 'specialized requirements' I kindly ask you to change the override file to allow it to have priority optional. Thank you very much for your work. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [email protected]
