Package: pwauth
Version: 2.3.8-1
Severity: normal

pwauth fails to authenticate any users when called as www-data (return code 1).
When calling it as root it works as expected and both authenticates local users
as well as LDAP users via PAM. As soon as the suid bit is set for
/usr/sbin/pwauth authentication with wwww-data works fine. My PAM configuration
is extended with the default configuration of libpam-ldapd and authentication
of LDAP users works fine too.
