Package: pwauth Version: 2.3.8-1 Severity: normal
pwauth fails to authenticate any users when called as www-data (return code 1). When calling it as root it works as expected and both authenticates local users as well as LDAP users via PAM. As soon as the suid bit is set for /usr/sbin/pwauth authentication with wwww-data works fine. My PAM configuration is extended with the default configuration of libpam-ldapd and authentication of LDAP users works fine too. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0 APT prefers squeeze-updates APT policy: (500, 'squeeze-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-486 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages pwauth depends on: ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libpam0g 1.1.1-6.1 Pluggable Authentication Modules l Versions of packages pwauth recommends: ii libapache2-mod-authnz-externa 3.2.4-2 authenticate Apache against extern pwauth suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
