found 596031 6.3.2~rc3-2 thanks Offlineimap still stalls and balloons to eat all memory when ran on a non-fast network (dialup here). Worse, this new version cannot be run with python 2.5, which I have been using to avoid the problem for months.
I no longer think the network has to be particularly lossy. Just slow seems enough to trigger this bug. It may be possible to reproduce it using trickle. -- see shy jo
