I'm just looking into this.  I tried doing a build of 3.0.6 with the Debian 
patches forward-ported (which involved removing a few things that had been 
accepted upstream).  But I get the above error messages.  Any ideas?

Henrique, I'll give you an account on one of my SE Linux development machines 
to test this.
