Package: plymouth-drm
Version: 0.8.3-18+b1
Severity: normal
Plymouth does not show a splash screen and does not log boot messages.
My configuration is as follows:
/etc/initramfs-tools/modules:
drm
nouveau modeset=1
/etc/default/grub:
[...]
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="splash"
[...]
/etc/plymouth:
# Administrator customizations go in this file
[Daemon]
Theme=fade-in
Installed themes:
/usr/sbin/plymouth-set-default-theme --list
details
fade-in
glow
script
solar
spinfinity
text
To apply the changes I ran
/usr/sbin/plymouth-set-default-theme fade-in
update-grub2
update-initramfs -u
following instructions at
http://wiki.debian.org/plymouth
Another important problem seems to be, that plymouth does not log its own errors
and leaves no hints as to what might have happened.
If I start plymouthd and run
plymouth show-splash
after Xorg is running, the splash screen is displayed on the first console.
