Thanks. I've applied (a slightly different form of) Lucas's patch to upstream CVS. I also caught (thanks to compiler warnings) one other place where there was a problem caused by lack of silly typedefs -- see the most recent change to pilrc.c. It's less vital though -- it causes a pilrc crash rather than wrong output -- so IMHO it wouldn't be worth rolling a 3.2-4 just for this. I plan to make a 3.3 release in the not too distant future -- the string macro rewrite has been languishing in CVS for far too long.
