Package: chromium-browser Version: 6.0.472.63~r59945-5+squeeze2 Happens to me about half the time on Wikia sites (e.g. http://starwars.wikia.com/). Browser starts allocating large amounts of memory; system begins swapping, then grinds to a halt, completely frozen. Prior to the freeze, there's a few seconds of reduced responsiveness; the freeze can be avoided if I manage to close the browser tab during this time.
I'm using wheezy on an amd64 machine with one gigabyte of RAM and two gigabytes of encrypted swap (dm-crypt, twofish-cbc-essiv:sha256). Kernel 2.6.32-30 (self-built, configuration available on request) with proprietary nvidia graphics module. It's probably the kind of problem that can be solved by throwing memory at it.
