It seems  that other DM does  not use pam_ck_connector  module. GDM does
not use  it and the patched  version of XDM  does not use it  either. In
Debian, this  PAM module is configured  to enable ConsoleKit  only for a
text console.

Here is a patch for XDM. Maybe this can easily be adapted for slim:

However, in the meanwhile, maybe  this is better to use pam_ck_connector
by adding  an appropriate  /etc/pam.d/slim file and  fix the  bug Alexis
mentioned.

Without  those fixes,  a session  started with  slim is  almost unusable
since  most  things  do  not  work  out  of  the  box  (network-manager,
bluetooth, scanners, ...).
