Thanks for your bugreport. That sounds like a problem with gksu (using the gnome keyring I suspect). Could you please try "sudo synaptic" instead of gksu (or if you don't use sudo, "su -c synpatic" should work). If that works, then the bug needs to be reassinged to gksu.
