Hi Ghe,

Would it be possible to make a packet capture of a DHCP lease being
obtained?

This could be a bit tricky to do from the client side, but shouldn't be
impossible. You'll need to ensure the interface you're running dhclient on
is already up beforehand, and probably run dhclient on it by hand, rather
than using ifup.

Please invoke tcpdump with a snaplength of 0, i.e.:

tcpdump -n -s0 -i eth0 -w /tmp/325865.pcap port bootpc or port bootps

and mail me the resulting capture file.
