The new version can't be uploaded to unstable because it depends on libevent >= 2.0.10, which is currently only available in experimental. I had a package ready last week, but got swamped by other issues. And to make things worse I'm now traveling and unfortunately left the code for the new package uncommited on my home computer, so it'll probably take a bit longer.
