It's hard to tell the reason without a backtrace. Install amarok-dbg (and its recommends if needed), crash amarok and wait crash dialog to appear. If it does not appear, start amarok with: $ gdb --args amarok --nofork (gdb) run .... crash it ... (gdb) bt .... backtrace goes here ....
