The package description is: C++ library to enable user programs to communicate with the PostgreSQL database back-end. The database back-end can be local or it may be on another machine, accessed via TCP/IP. This package obsoletes the libpqpp package. I don't use this package anymore, neither Martin Pitt (an uploader). Current status is mostly OK, 1 wishlist bug, actions needed for Wheezy: 1) remove already obsoleted in Squeeze libpqxx (v2) package 2) upgrade to the latest upstream release, 3.1.
