The patch has been accepted upstream:

  It has been added to revision 2084, which can be downloaded from
  http://powerdnssec.org/snapshots/

  It will also be part of the 3.0 release.

It would be extra cool if you can include in a soon-to-come upload to
sid and (very nicely) also to backport (if you prefer, I can handle
the backport stuff, but it might be nicer if you consider doing it).
