Package: nginx Version: 0.7.67-3 Severity: normal The nginx package seems to be using the default value for "prefix", the path which is used to resolve relative paths in the configuration file. This by default is "/usr/local/nginx" which doesn't exist, and isn't FHS-compliant.
The package should probably use a more standard location by default. Going by the example of the apache packages (where the equivalent is ServerRoot by the looks of it), I would suggest using /etc/nginx. It does seem to make sense to me that relative paths in the configuration file would be relative to this directory. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.1 APT prefers proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-openvz-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_GB.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages nginx depends on: ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libgeoip1 1.4.7~beta6+dfsg-1 A non-DNS IP-to-country resolver l ii libpcre3 8.02-1.1 Perl 5 Compatible Regular Expressi ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8o-4squeeze1 SSL shared libraries ii lsb-base 3.2-23.2squeeze1 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime nginx recommends no packages. nginx suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/nginx/sites-available/default changed [not included] -- no debconf information -- Chris Butler <chr...@debian.org> GnuPG Key ID: 4096R/49E3ACD3 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
