Package: axyl Version: 2.1.7 Debian Policy, 3.10.1 Prompting in maintainer scripts, says: "Package maintainer scripts may prompt the user if necessary. Prompting should be done by communicating through a program, such as debconf, which conforms to the Debian Configuration management specification, version 2 or higher. Prompting the user by other means, such as by hand[7], is now deprecated."
In the introduction, violating a "should" in the policy is sufficient grounds for the package being buggy. Please switch to using debconf for prompting.
