Using apt, I uninstalled all of the evolution-plugin packages. I am able to start it again now. The problem seems to be tracker-miner-evolution 0.8.17-2
I am still getting the following: $ evolution (evolution:9147): GLib-CRITICAL **: the GVariant format string `(u)' has a type of `(u)' but the given value has a type of `(s)' (evolution:9147): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_get: assertion `valid_format_string (format_string, TRUE, value)' failed But at least the program runs now. Tracker never seemed to index my emails anyway. Which was weird.
