That is odd, as I did address my messages directly to you.  Did they get
caught in your spam filter?

If you want to keep the 1.2.0 version installed, then I recommend that
you place the package on "hold" (which can be done through aptitude
and/or dpkg, depending on which you use more often).  That will prevent
future upgrades from upgrading that particular package until you remove
the hold.

As far as the problem, I recommend that you coordinate with the upstream
mailing list.  I really have no idea what precisely occurred or why.
Given that the upstream developer is also stumped, it seems like this
problem may be particularly challenging to track down.  In any case, I
am not sure that I can offer much help, as I cannot reproduce the
problem.
