Package: debconf Version: 1.5.28 Severity: normal File: /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure
Hi, I have a postinst script that calls dpkg-trigger. When I dpkg-reconfigure that package I get the following error: dpkg-trigger: dpkg-trigger must be called from a maintainer script (or with a --by-package option) The problem is that dpkg-trigger expects that maintainer scripts will be called by dpkg with DPKG_MAINTSCRIPT_PACKAGE being set. But dpkg-reconfigure does not set this nor does it set DPKG_MAINTSCRIPT_ARCH. Please coordinate with the dpkg maintainers and policy about the right way to call maintainer scripts. If you think you are right please reassign to dpkg-trigger so it can document that --by-package is mandatory.
