Hi Brian, 2011/4/7 Brian May <br...@microcomaustralia.com.au>: > 2011/4/7 Ondřej Surý <ond...@debian.org>: >> Please port your package to libdb5.1 as soon as possible. In most cases >> only change required is to update build depends from libdb4.8-dev >> to libdb-dev, or just recompile the package.
First let me thank you for the quick reply :) > My package already has Build-Depends libdb-dev. So I don't think this is a > bug in my source package. I could reassign to binary package if you want. > Maybe the package needs a rebuild? Yes, please. Or I can request a binNMU, but it would be better if you at least check that your package doesn't check for DB_VERSION_MAJOR == 4 anywhere. Still I think that your rebuild with checking that it links to correct library/etc. would be better. Sometime the autoconf macros will find db5.1 headers, but link to libdb4.7 because they explicitly search for db-4.7 db4.7 db47 ... db in the m4 macro.
