I guess we should document to run testparm and look at the upstream changelog for more details when doing major upgrades. The 'map untrusted to domain' was introduced as a result of my group at the university complaining to upstream that our usecase (similar to the one of Josip) did not work anymore. From an upstream's pov it's only logical to default the option to no btw. But I think it's probably a use case that is more common for Debian users and should probably be mentioned explicitly.
