I suspect this is related to #433381 and #434247. The effects witnessed are those of #434247, namely: $ transcend Error initializing audio framework Error number: -10000 Error message: Host error. but that was allegedly fixed by the fix to #433381 which became libportaudio0 18.1-7.1.
