I've checked, and i could not find any copy of the file anywhere else to test it. The partial copy from the cdrom with a cp gives a broken image which is unable to reproduce the problem, so i think it is of no real interest but attached it anyway.
With thunar 1.2.1, the problem is now moved to tumbler, which doesn't crash, and seems to handle these I/O problems much better, so i guess you'd like to close this br. Do as you see fit.
