I think you can circumvent it by creating a /etc/apt/auth.conf in the style of a netrc (5) file: 'man 5 netrc' Its from a security point of view better as this file doesn't need to be readable by anyone except root while sources.list(.d) is needed also for commands which require only "normal" user rights.
