Andreas, thank you for quick responce. > Did any of these commands fail? How? > If not, your subject is misleading.
I agree with you. Closer name of the subject is "nvidia-glx issue with x-686 kernels" > Please try with a minimal /etc/X11/xorg.conf as described in > /usr/share/doc/nvidia-glx/README.Debian.gz instead of the xorg.conf > generated by nvidia-xconfig. > > If this does not help, try a newer driver version. 260.xx drivers are in > testing, 270.xx in unstable. I found solution, before "sudo aptitude install nvidia-glx nvidia-settings nvidia-xconfig" needed perform the following steps: 1) sudo aptitude install module-assistant 2) sudo module-assistant prepare 3) sudo module-assistant update 4) module-assistant auto-install nvidia-kernel-source It is a pity that I do not understand why this is done, but it works. May be better automate this procedure? Thanks. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
