At present scid only allows making variations as alternatives to an
actual game move (or a null move).  To keep track of ongoing games, or
even to annotate games where the reason for resignation or draw
agreement might not be obvious, it would be very useful to allow
appending variations at the end of a game (or entering a null move
there, which currently doesn't work, either).
