Update: I concocted a working xorg.conf for my configuration. In brief, it's the file resulting from "Xorg -configure", with the addition of the ServerFlags section to disable udev/evdev/whatever: Section "ServerFlags" Option "AutoAddDevices" "false" Option "AllowEmptyInput" "false" Option "DontZap" "false" EndSection Of course this is just a workaround, since I'd really like to have evdev working, but it's good to have X back while I investigate further on the matter :-) I attach my xorg.conf.
