Package: audacity Version: 1.2.3-2 Severity: minor audacity's mailcap entries register it at default priority for playing MP3 files. Since rhythmbox and xmms (at least) do the same, audacity seems to become the default MP3 player (probably due to alphabetical order).
audacity isn't really a general purpose MP3 player so it would be better if it registered itself at below-normal priority for playing. See mailcap(5) for details. (You might consider this bug wishlist rather than minor. I don't mind.) thanks, Hamish -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-1-amd64-k8 Locale: LANG=en_AU, LC_CTYPE=en_AU (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages audacity depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:4.0.1-6 GCC support library ii libid3tag0 0.15.1b-7 ID3 tag reading library from the M ii libmad0 0.15.1b-2.1 MPEG audio decoder library ii libogg0 1.1.2-1 Ogg Bitstream Library ii libsndfile1 1.0.11-1 Library for reading/writing audio ii libstdc++6 4.0.1-6 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libvorbis0a 1.1.0-1 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii libvorbisenc2 1.1.0-1 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii libvorbisfile3 1.1.0-1 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii libwxgtk2.4-1 2.4.4.1.1 wxWindows Cross-platform C++ GUI t audacity recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
