Please try to reproduce your problem with the latest version from
unstable of the gstreamer and gst-plugins packages:
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/source/gstreamer0.8
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/source/gst-plugins0.8
If that doesn't help, you might want to try the experimental version of
Rhythmbox in experimental (it requires experimental totem too).
If you can't try these versions, please wait until they enter testing.
