Package: john
Version: 1.7.3.1-1
Severity: wishlist
Using the stock Debian john package, my Core i7 920 system can check
297369K NT MD4 hashes per second ("Generic 1x").
I built john myself using 'make linux-x86-64' and got a speed boost to
322962K checks per second ("128/128 X2 SSE2-16").
I also see AVX and XOP variants in the makefile. My preferred solution
would be to build and ship all available variants under different names
and let the user choose which one to run.
