Package: emacs23 Version: 23.3+1-1 Severity: normal After a recent update (probably to 23.3+1-1) ispell-word no longer replaces the word being corrected but instead inserts the new word before leaving the previous mispelled word adjacent.
$ emacs -Q /tmp/test.txt Type in a mispelled word such as "Wabster". Wabster Place the cursor on the word. Run ispell-word (e.g. M-$) and then select the replacement "Webster". The following will be the result with the cursor sitting between the two. WebsterWabster This is new behavior that did not happen until the recent upgrade. What should happen is that the mispelled word is replaced by the new word selection from ispell. Thanks for maintaining emacs!
