Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
You can probably fix this by installing the package called
libcanberra-gtk-module

This package deals with sounds, though, so I doubt it has anything to
do with appearance

When using the calculator, it has a very bland theme that is nothing like how it was before today's update. The new one looks very ugly when compared to the old one. The window decoration seems to be ok, but the buttons are very bland
and boring looking. I believe it has to do with the gtk message that the
terminal spits out.
Are you sure the change was triggered by a new gcalctool as opposed to
a lack of the gtk theme?

Have you tried going to the appearance window and changing the theme,
to see if the calculator is fixed?
It's only changing for 2-3 themes. Unlike the old one where it's themeing was more into the theme itself, this one is bland and boring.
The theme itself is from this url.
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Slickness+Black?content=73210
Can you send a screenshot of how it looks, so that we can understand
what you mean by "bland" ?
Please see the attached png. Before this update, it was working just fine and had buttons that were stylized as they should be, but after this update everything went down hill. the buttons used to be rounded like what is found in Adwaita(with this update). But it seems to be pulling the information for the style of the buttons from Amaranth. With the only change inside of it being the "Undo" and "Clear Display" buttons.
