Package: ipset Version: 2.5.0-1 Severity: normal
FWIW, the 4.5 release from upstream (which is for kernels < 2.6.35 such as the one included in Lenny) appears to work fine both as a kernel module and the userland part on lenny. We push quite a few packets through our sets which contain from 1 to 11000 entries. I used the following to build & install new packages: # apt-get source ipset # wget http://ipset.netfilter.org/ipset-4.5.tar.bz2 # cd ipset-2.5.0 # uupdate -v 4.5 ../ipset-4.5.tar.bz2 # cd ../ipset-4.5 # dch (update changelog, slightly alter version number) # dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -i # cd .. # dpkg -i ipset-source_4.5-0_all.deb ipset_4.5-0_i386.deb # m-a auto-install ipset # ipset -v ipset v4.5, protocol version 4. Kernel module protocol version 4. The 6.7 ipset release is only for newer kernels, such as those in testing, unstable or experimental. I have not spun up a system suitable for testing newer ipset versions. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (900, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages ipset depends on: ii iptables 1.4.8-3 administration tools for packet fi ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ipset recommends no packages. ipset suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
