Yes, but how do I start in a mode that will have networking working but
not start X?  Once X starts, I can't do anything.  It seems that single
user/recovery mode in the grub menu does not start networking.  In the
udev dependencies, it says it breaks linux-image-2.6-* (<2.6.28).
Shouldn't that be < 2.6.32?  Any help would be appreciated to get out of
this without having to reinstall the computer.
