Hi Julian. Did you or anybody manage to look at the tcpdump file that I had captured against this bug?
FWIW, This problem occurs on all machines that use FTP, not just this one. I think wget also has problem with retrieval of some of the packages over ftp (bug reported pending), so I am not sure whether that is due to common code in the mechanisms, or whether there is possibly a server side fault in vsftpd, which is being used to power most of the Debian mirrors.
