The layout settings in gnome-keyboard-properties appear to work poorly with the Sun Type 5/6 keyboard model. As long as only one layout selected (in my case, USA), the keyboard works basically as expected (except that "Alt" is really Meta in all the keyboard shortcuts); in particular, the Compose key works properly, and AltGr-4 produces the Euro symbol as labeled on the keyboard. However, * When adding a layout (Layout -> Add...), all the USA and Canada layouts are are all drawn the same way; i.e. USA, USA Dvorak, USA International (AltGr dead keys) are all drawn the same even though they cause the keyboard to behave differently when selected. Of course, they are all drawn incorrectly since the picture shows the layout of a generic keyboard rather than a Sun keyboard. * If more than one layout has been added, the Alt key turns into a Meta key, and the Meta key turns into a Super key, and the Compose key turns into a Menu key, regardless of which layout is selected. Additionally, AltGr-4 will not produce a Euro symbol when the USA layout is selected. * When the (Layouts -> Options... -> Key(s) to change Layout -> Both Alt keys together) option is not selected, AltGr-4 does not produce the Euro symbol.
