This is fixed in newer versions of multistrap, I'm trying to arrange a backport to squeeze. There are no particular issues with using multistrap from Sid or Wheezy currently but the upcoming MultiArch transition may have an effect, once dpkg gains support for installing foreign arch packages. So the time to install multistrap from Wheezy / do the backport is now. http://cdn.debian.net/debian/pool/main/m/multistrap/multistrap_2.1.15_all.deb > I have executed multistrap without additional options: > $ multistrap -f /root/temp/multistrap/multistrap.conf > The config file contains: > [General] > arch=armel > directory=/root/temp/multistrap/target/ > cleanup=true > noauth=false > unpack=true > aptsources=Debian > bootstrap=Debian > > [Debian] > packages=base-files > source=http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ > keyring=debian-archive-keyring > suite=stable There should be no need to specify base-files and other than that, the conf is the same as the packaged squeeze.conf, so there are no problems there. (It is advisable to use codenames instead of suites now that the problems with apt and codenames is resolved in stable. Only oldstable is still affected by that.) > ii realpath 1.15 Return the canonicalized > absolute You'll be able to drop that package with the updated multistrap, it uses internal perl support instead. -- Neil Williams ============= http://www.linux.codehelp.co.uk/
